The Starter

Before entering Canaan, like Moses, Joshua sent two men to spy on Canaan. Hadn't God already promised Joshua the Land of Canaan? Why did Joshua still need to send the spies? Also, the mission wasn't very successful because they were being discovered shortly. If not for the prostitute Rehab of Jericho, they would certainly be caught. So, what's the real purpose of the whole episode? What could we learn from it?
